BZ957: Picture tile returns ‘format unsupported’ for external documents (Helix Server for Intel only)

The Problem

Pictures extracted from documents (via an abacus containing the Picture tile) do not display correctly when the collection is hosted by Helix Server for Intel 6.1.2 or earlier. Instead of the picture, Helix Client displays the text format unsupported.
Solution

Update to Helix 6.1.3 or later.
Workaround

If you do not want to update, you also have the option of switching to Helix Server for PowerPC. That product will run on your Intel-based Mac with reduced performance.
Scope

This bug affects only collections hosted by Helix Server for Intel 6.1.2 or earlier. Helix Server for PowerPC is not affected by this bug.
Status

This bug is fixed in Helix Server for Intel 6.1.3.
